As your County Judge, I'll work every day to strengthen public safety, improve infrastructure, manage growth responsibly, and ensure county government serves the people with transparency, accountability, and common sense.
What is a County Judge?
Despite the name, the County Judge is not a judge in the traditional courtroom sense. In Texas, the County Judge serves as the chief executive officer of county government, similar to what many states call a County Executive or County Mayor. The County Judge leads the Commissioners Court (like City Council for the County), helps develop and oversee the county budget, coordinates county departments, works closely with elected officials like the Sheriff and County Commissioners, and leads the county's response during emergencies and disasters.
More than anything, the County Judge provides the leadership to keep county government focused on what matters most: protecting public safety, investing wisely in infrastructure, managing growth responsibly, being a good steward of taxpayer dollars, and delivering the efficient, responsive government residents deserve.

PUBLIC SAFETY
Keeping people safe is county government's most fundamental responsibility. I will work to ensure our Sheriff's Office, Constables' Offices, emergency management professionals, and first responders have the resources, coordination, and support they need to protect our communities. Through thoughtful planning, strong partnerships, and responsible investment, we can keep Hays County prepared for today's challenges while planning for tomorrow's.
PLANNING FOR GROWTH
Hays County is growing, and that's a good thing. Our job isn't to fight growth, it's to plan for it. By setting clear expectations, improving coordination, and creating a predictable process, county government can encourage the kind of growth that strengthens our communities, supports our infrastructure, and creates new opportunities for families and businesses.
