Geoffrey Tahuahua (tuh-wah-wah) is a dedicated public servant, policy expert, and longtime advocate for Hays County. With a passion for responsible governance and a strong background in business and public policy, Geoffrey has spent his career working to ensure that families, businesses, and communities thrive.

A proud resident of Dripping Springs, Geoffrey has spent more than a decade serving as a nonprofit and association executive, building coalitions and advocating for policies that strengthen communities across Texas. He currently serves as president of one of the largest trade associations in Texas, where he works to promote policies that support job creation, economic growth, and workforce development. He has successfully worked with state and local leaders to cut unnecessary regulations, protect property rights, and ensure small businesses have the tools they need to succeed. His experience also includes working for one of the state’s leading think tanks, where he focused on advancing free-market principles and limited government. Earlier in his career, Geoffrey served as an advisor  to a member of the Texas House of Representatives, gaining a strong foundation in public policy and a deep understanding of how to navigate complex legislative issues.

Geoffrey’s commitment to Hays County runs deep. He was elected to Dripping Springs City Council in 2021, where he has worked to ensure every tax dollar is used efficiently, managing growth responsibly while investing in critical infrastructure improvements. His leadership has been instrumental in expanding roads, upgrading wastewater systems, and improving coordination between local government and emergency services.

Before joining the City Council, Geoffrey was appointed to the North Hays County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) board at a critical time when the agency was facing significant financial challenges. Through sound fiscal management and strategic planning, he helped put North Hays EMS on a path to long-term stability. By the time he stepped down to serve on the city council, the agency was financially strong, allowing it to become a standalone, self-sufficient operation that continues to serve the community today. As the council member over emergency management, he continues to work closely with North Hays EMS and Emergency Services District No. 6 (North Hays County Fire & Rescue) to ensure first responders have the resources they need to protect residents.

Geoffrey’s leadership is guided by conservative principles—fiscal responsibility, accountability, and a commitment to protecting the values that make Hays County a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Geoffrey lives in Dripping Springs with his wife and their three sons.

Now, Geoffrey is ready to take his leadership and experience to the next level to ensure Hays County continues to be a place of opportunity and prosperity for generations to come. Vote for Geoffrey Tahuahua on the Republican Primary ballot in 2026!
